What is the difference between a Static QR Code and a Dynamic QR Code?

What is the difference between a Static QR Code and a Dynamic QR Code?

There are many free QR Code generators available that enable you to create QR Codes, however most of these only enable you to create a Static QR Code. Whilst a Static QR Code gives basic functionality, Dynamic QR codes offer more functionality.

A static QR code is useful for a single-use purpose, whereby the call to action is one single function. However, they cannot be tracked and it is difficult to provide analytics. Once the static QR code is created, it can only be used for a single purpose, e.g directing you to a website. That purpose cannot change.

A dynamic QR code offers so much more. The ability to track and analyse is more useful from a marketing perspective, but the ability to change it’s function (or purpose) is what sets Dynamic QR codes apart.

For example, a unique Dynamic QR code can be created for each customer in your database and the call to action can change from campaign to campaign.

Another use case for Dynamic QR codes, is when dynamic QR codes are printed on property ‘for sale’ boards. When these ‘for sale’ boards are moved to a new property, the Dynamic QR code can be redirected to the details of the new property.

QResponse.co.uk enables you to create fully branded Dynamic QR Codes with ease, along with an insight dashboard for all your analytics
